MAT FRANCO “Magic Reinvented Nightly” - LINQ
Mat Franco is a very talented guy. He's also the first magic act to win NBC's America's Got Talent. He now has his own fabulous Las Vegas Show at The LINQ Hotel and Casino. The producers from BASE Entertainment brought BPS aboard during pre-production to shoot the show's opening short film and also their TV commercials.
THE LAST REAL COWBOYS
Starring Billy Bob Thornton and Mickey Jones, this magical little short was shot over two days in the Nevada desert. This project is the brainchild of director Jeff Lester and screenwriter Rudy Gaines. A fabulous Las Vegas crew + DP extraordinaire Peter Smokler came to work for nothing but a hot lunch. Thanks to the spirited crew and amazing cast this project became a reality. This award winning film went on to screen successfully at over 30 international film festivals. A long form version of this short is in the works.
Earning top honors for 'Best Narrative Film' and 'Best Director' for Jeff Lester, this short film was produced for the 2007 48 hour Elevate Film Festival and screened for audiences and judges at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood. The script was written by Neale Donald Walsch (Conversations with God) and was politically very relevant at the time.
This independent feature film starring Jeremy Sisto and Heather Graham was created from an original story conceived by Jeff Lester. The screenplay was written by Drew Pillsbury, who co-authored the story with Lester. It was inspired by a 3AM experience Lester had at Mel's Diner on Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood. Lester and Pillsbury were co-producers. First Look distributed the film.
SPEED OF LIFE
This powerful short documentary came about from a challenge from Current TV’s “A Chance At Slamdance”. The problem: the project needed to be delivered in 2 weeks. Company founder Susan Anton discovered the subject matter in a women’s health magazine and the film project was born. It took ten days and a total budget of $387.61 to bring this project to life. It was one of three films from over eighteen hundred submissions to be chosen to premiere at Slamdance. This project was a true labor of love about the emotional triumph of snowboarder Amy Purdy.
SUNDANCE CHANNEL “The Shorts Show with Laura Dern”
This television show for Sundance Channel was conceived, written, and directed by Jeff Lester. It showcases short films and the filmmakers who bring them to life. Laura Dern was the perfect fit to host the show as she fully embodies the spirit of independent filmmaking and has been involved in many short films herself.
THE SMITH CENTER “And So It Begins”
This inspirational 3 minute short branding piece was used for the launch of the beautiful new preforming arts center in Las Vegas. The piece was conceived, written, and directed by Jeff Lester and was executive produced by The Smith Center’s Myron Martin. There was an outpouring of enthusiasm from the various arts schools, programs, and individuals who volunteered their time and talent to be part of this piece.
TROY BULLOCK “Country Go Round”
Country Star Troy Bullock's music video tells the tale of his authentic background as a 3rd generation coal minor. Shot over 2 days in Nelson Nevada; this video was directed by Jeff Lester and DP'd by Jason Mowry.
In rebranding The Hughes Center as THE HC, Equity Office asked BPS to deliver an inspired promotional branding piece for their renovated upscale business park & campus.
NOBU “Fashion Week”
Nobu Hotel wanted a branding piece for LA Fashion week. What followed was conglomeration of beautiful models, incredible Nobu luxury suite & signature restaurant, and some big style from fashion designer Jonathan Bash. All of that mixed together yielded this cool video which ran extensively at the LAFW show.
Spa Girl Cocktails Branding Video
We did this new branding video for Spa Girl Cocktails, a Palm Springs based beverage company. Spa Girl is an ultra premium vodka martini, in both Spa Martini and Pear Martini flavors. The company recently launched in 65 destinations throughout Southern California and is now beginning distribution in Arizona. It was founded by CEO Karen Haines. BPS co-founder, Susan Anton, is the celebrity brand ambassador for Spa Girl.
THE SMITH CENTER “Creativity”
This is the follow up piece to the launch branding film, "And So It Begins". This short film was also conceived, written, and directed by Jeff Lester and executive produced by The Smith Center's Myron Martin. "Creativity" was inspired as an acknowledgement to the various arts programs offered to all children at The Smith Center. It was also to commemorate the milestone of One Million patrons who attended shows in just the first two years at this beautiful performing arts center.
PEEPSHOW - PLANET HOLLYWOOD
Peepshow was brought to life by the imaginative, Tony award winning director and choreographer, Jerry Mitchell (Kinky Boots, Hairspray). This long running Las Vegas show, managed by Base Entertainment, was shot numerous times during it's the run by director Jeff Lester. The show recently closed but was a great run with some truly great friends, our thanks to Jerry M and the Base team.
SURF THE MUSICAL - PLANET HOLLYWOOD
Backed with the great music of the Beach Boys and director Karen Hanggi's ('Rock of Ages') vision, this production had all too short a run. Jeff Lester directed this multi-cam shoot in the Peepshow theater at Planet Hollywood.
HAIRSPRAY - LUXOR
This production of Hairspray was top notch. It was directed & choregraphed by Tony Award winners Jack O'Brien and Jerry Mitchell and starred Tony winner Harvey Fierstein. Jeff Lester directed this multi-camera shoot at the 1500 seat Luxor Theater.
THE GOLF NETWORK “Fashion”
Linksmark reached out to BPS to assist them in the launch of The Golf Network. BPS oversaw all the content from production through post. This piece features the LPGA's new wave of women golfers.
NASSIRI “Love Sees No Color”
This music video was shot over two days in Red Rock. The artist Nassiri wanted to bring forward the pure emotion of his message by having children involved in the production. Director Jeff Lester created a beautiful piece that played extensively throughout the world.
